Look of the Day/Street Style – A Little Leopard, Please.

Purchasing a cape is up there on my to-do list, right below trying not to quit grad school and balancing a sad, sad student budget.

I love this look; the ensemble incorporates an animal print without entering tacky territory, which is actually a difficult task in a world full of cheap, gaudy animal prints.

Natasha Poly Gets Groovy for Vogue Russia October 2010 – by Terry Richardson

Natasha Poly takes on the role of playful seventies vixen in the latest issue of Vogue Russia. The 70′s-inspired editorials are sure to be on the influx asap, so keep yours eyes peeled for similarly groovy spreads.

The red lip really makes the patterns pop. And of course, Terry Richardson behind the lens makes for a raw, sexy vibe only he can achieve.

Editorial Love – Rep Your Hood

Muse #23 introduces a warm way to rep your hood with model Kirsi Pyrhönen’s seductive gaze and sultry smokey eye tempting me to reach for some fur.

But I’ll refrain…faux real.

Look of the Day – Sheer + Black + White

This simple, yet refreshing look is a reminder that sometimes the most basic of color palettes can make a chic statement. The hint of white and the length of the skirt are simultaneously surprising and sexy.

Vogue Paris – 90th Anniversary/October Issue

Vogue Paris is celebrating almost a century of fashion, and what better way to showcase their  pervasive editorial eye than to use some of fashion’s most elite faces is a fetish-worthy, darkly sexy spread including Freja Beha, Lara Stone and a few mysteriously masked others.

Eerily sexy and unpredictable.

Milan Fashion Week – Jil Sander S/S 2011 – Top Ten

I. die.

Raf Simons gave the often-overused term “minimalism” a new meaning, evoking a fresh yet edgy, youthful aesthetic for Jil Sander’s couture-inspired Spring collection. While lines were crisp, dramatic silhouettes were in constant rotation throughout the show, along with playful hues that were neither “70′s-inspired” nor the usual minimalist favorites of black and white. No; deep purples, aqua blues and construction-zone oranges lit up the runway on floor length garments that left onlookers (presumably) swept away.

Bare faces with cool, pink lips set the mood. I am more excited about this collection than even Calvin Klein’s seemingly perfect show. Raf Simons proves we can all go “back to basics” without being basic at all.

Editorial: The Commuter – Dansk #24 – A/W 2010

In New York, it seems people vent more about their commute than they do about their spouses, children, enemies and finances put together. And I concur; when the 1 train is late and I’m trying to make it to class, I’m tempted to write hate mail to the MTA.

But alas, we all commute, and for those of us who can’t afford a car service to whisk us away to our next destination, chances are we must pack our belongings in a brief case and attack our day with verve; that is, after we wait underground for our transportation in shining armor.

The A/W issue of Dansk features an array of elegant choices for our daily commute, hence its title, “The Commuter.” Ming Xi is cool and discreet in sleek lines and clean silhouettes.

…makes me wonder: what does she have in her bag?

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's New Online Shop

Andy Warhol is ordering some of the pieces from his grave, so I’ve heard.

In high school, my poor then-boyfriend was forced to watch Project Runway with me every Thursday night, and in turn, he demanded I watch Southpark with him at least one night a week. Of course, at first I despised the ridiculous cartoon; the characters were little pudgy bullies. They poked fun at everyone, and I mean everyone. But eventually, I started laughing along, and I continued watching even after said boyfriend was just a part of my past.

Now, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac‘s infamous pop art designs are bringing back those memories; these ingenious pieces are available for purchase on his new e-commerce site, which opens his tongue-in-cheek collections to the masses. And this time around, forget big golden Ms for McDonalds, or life-sized Muppets characters; the Southpark cartoon characters serve as the latest inspiration for the JC/DC line.

The top of the new site has a quote, which only furthers my love for the quirky, odd collection, which says

“JC/DC got new dresses. Hats waiting for the rain. Shirts to get formal but not. Jackets for the wind. And if you fancy the night wear a wolf hood. For her. For him.”

Milan Fashion Week – Prada Spring/Summer 2011 – Video

We live in a digital world, darlings, therefore, for the first time, I give you a show from fashion week on video. Everyone else is doing it, whether readers like it or not. But I, on the other hand, care about your preferences.

Would you rather see the images in front of you, or is a video more enticing? Give me feedback, after all, it is all about you!
