Photo of the Day – Umbrella, Ella, Ella, Ayyy

It’s about to pour here, so this only seemed time appropriate. If one must be rained on, can she at least have a chic, almost-obnoxious candy-striped umbrella to guard her from the damage?

Shoe Lust – Nike Sportswear Air Royalty Hi – "Kimono"

Kimonos remind me of a lot of things (movies, a mediocre Japanese restaurant close to my house, a terrible U.S. trend), but I have yet to see this concept implemented into a pair of kicks. The gray leather, silver swoosh and blue and yellow kimono detailing, which almost appear scaly, all make this shoe a definite candidate for the “Shoe Lust” category.

How dope would these look with a pair of dark denims? If you can afford to scoop, PLEASE do us all a favor and upgrade your feet with these. Available for purchase here.

Leighton Meester in Chanel, At Chanel

Donning Chanel at the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris. She opted for quite the statement necklace, and I am going back and forth between loving it and being iffy about its contrast with the detail of her dress.

We’ve missed you, Leighton.

Nike Storm Warriors

Is it just me, or do you also recall a song out there that stated, more or less, that said person was “chillin’ in my Nike boots, flyer than the rest of them…”? Was that Wale?

Anyway, these Nike Storm Warriors are just what their title implies: tough and withstanding against the wettest of storms. The colorful array of options offer choices for all of us who agree that, while kind of weird looking, Nike rainboots are the next best thing to Nike birthday cakes, except these bad boys actually serve a purpose other than stuffing faces.

My favorites are the red and yellow colorways. Thoughts?

Style Crush – Julia Restoin Roitfeld

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a style crush. It’s not often that I am inspired by one individual’s style; I usually find something I like on people all over the map/internet/globe. My style crushes remain to be Christine Centenera (of Australia Harper’s Bazaar), Alexa Chung, Kate Moss..the usuals.

However, I recently stumbled upon fashion darling Julia Restoin Roitfeld, whom I have seen on many-a-blog before, but I had yet to discover her fashionable lineage. Julia is daughter to the coveted Editor-in-Cheif of French Vogue, and her father had a clothing company, Equipment in France. Julia attended Parsons and is now pursuing her own career in the big city … (I’m there too!).

Her style is laid-back and sensual without being overtly sexual. She has, perhaps what most American women envy most, a Parisian sense of style combined with a New York boldness and execution. She seems to prefer a color palette comprised of black and neutrals, however, bright pops of color make their way into her ensembles in the form of shoes and accessories. I love her downtown, disheveled look that somehow maintains a sense of mystery and precision.

Hey, Julia, can I borrow from your closet? K…thanks.

Jak & Jil Brings us "The Men of Dolce & Gabbana"- We're Drooling

Um…Thank you Tommy Ton. Milan Men’s Fashion Week has come and gone, but these delicious photos of the models before/after the show remain. All I have to say is: Stefano Gabbana, you sure know how to pick ‘em. A street teeming with the likes of these blokes goes from boring to bloke party.

I hate to use this word when referring to humans, so forgive me, but…yum.

V's Sexy Body Issue – All Five Covers

Every summer, V Magazine releases its Sexy Body Issue magazine, always choosing some of the most covetable, greased up bodies to grace the covers. This year, Natasha Poly, Lily Donaldson, Adriana Lima, Eniko Mihalik, and Isabeli Fontana strip down to their sultry skivvies in the name of magazine sex appeal.

What do we think of the individual covers, all shot by Mario Sorrenti and all have different themes? Who/which is your favorite? And why? I vote for Adriana. If we are taking bodies here, then there is little contest. Of course, I think Lily and Natasha are more talented models, but it isn’t called the Sexy Talent Issue…

Yigal Azrouel Introduces Cut25 for Fall 2010

Yigal Azrouel has done what many other established fashion designers have in order to stay relevant: he has created a younger, more rebellious line that appeals to those who can afford to look a little disheveled and a rock ‘n roll. His grown up, ready-to-wear collection remains a staple for those with a penchant for luxurious draping, however, Cut25 is less cocktail party and more afterparty.

Leather, asymmetrical lines, roomy knits and the darker color palette definitely meet the credentials for a downtown girl-about-town; I may even say high street. And with prices remaining in mostly the 300$, the items are pricey but, thank God, have no commas on them in sight.

Can’t wait to see more of this line! I love the baggy gray T shirts and the navy sweaters. Thoughts?

These Shoes! Balenciaga?

Freja Beha Erichsen dons some architectural masterpieces on her feet in the latest issue of Vogue UK, shot by Josh Olins. Can anyone tell me who made these shoes? I am pretty sure they are Balenciaga but I can never be too certain…
