Rock Diva – Natalia Vodianova for Zoo #25 – by Bryan Adams

I usually claim to be tired of the rock n’ roll editorials that have taken the mag world by storm; studs, leather and zippers have been over-featured and over-hyped. Don’t get me wrong, I love stud-adorned pieces and lust after zipper-plenty leather bombers, but when it has become the editorial norm, it seems less rebel, more repeat.

However, despite the title, this editorial presents a new take on rocker trends. Although the essential elements of rock n’ roll chic are presents, the canary-yellow eyeshadow, metallic tops and bondage body adornments are offset by flowy pieces and magenta hints.

Loving this Fafi for Adidas Originals Spring 2010 – Bomber + Sneakers

One of my favorite graffiti artists, and a sassy lady to boot, Fafi has done another collabo with Adidas originals. Although I could post the entire lookbook, I espesh love these sneaks and bomber.

The inside of the bomber truly showcases Fafi’s talent, and the sneaks are simple yet fresh, (whereas the other sneaks in her collabo are a little too loud for my taste).

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target – March 7, 2010

I already showed you Zac Posen’s collection for Target, which doesn’t come out until April 25th, so excuse me for being slightly behind with the Jean Paul Gaultier collection, coming soon to Target stores near you.

The collection features a covetable leather biker jacket ($199), swimsuit separates, flirty dresses and skirts, and chic T’s. I definitely want to scoop up the entire collection (save the tattoo inspired leggings) and claim Jean Paul Gaultier’s name to my closet.

Le (affordable) chic.

Concrete Rings by 22 Design Studio

I love when designers get creative and utilize materials we would usually never consider wearable or attractive. These concrete rings by Taiwanese brand 22 Design Studio were inspired by architecture and urban life, and combine concrete and stainless steal to make unbreakable and innovative  rings that literally break ground. And as a refreshing alternative to the silver metal studs and hardware that have become staples in everyone’s wardrobe, these trinkets a newer option for updating your jewelry collection.

New Balance WRC576FR – Spring 2010

At times, sneaker color concoctions can range on the obnoxious side, but when New Balance combined their classic running shoe with a hiking boot, and mixed in some dope color combos, the outcome is a rugged shoe that will look look fresh with most spring/summer ensembles. I especially like the zig-zag stitching and the textured soles.

Expect these sneaks soon at New Balance retailers.

This Week's Inspiration

Sometimes, my brain hits a pitstop and remains in a rut until I seek inspiration from magazines, blogs, photographs, etc. And with my future up in the air (don’t know if I will get a job, where I will get accepted to grad school, where I will live), a lot of these photos just struck a chord with me for reasons I can’t explain.

So find your inspiration and see where it takes you.
