Interview Mag – Feb 2010 – Sasha Pivovarova by Craig McDean

With winter’s bleak color schemes and the appropriate but tired grays and blacks, such splashes of color in abundance are a nice wakeup call and a precursor for spring’s bright pops of color. The walls and couches look as though Pollock was reincarnated and locked in the room with a graffiti artist. The backdrop of this shoot is an intoxicating combination of  street-inspired fashion and art.

It’s about time the two joined forces again.

Nike Women's Blazer Mid – X-Girl

For “the ladies who don’t get star-struck” and can invent their own bright lights for glitz and glam, these kicks hit you with an eye-full of glitter without looking cheap or childish. For a more modern take on Michael Jackson’s ever-sparkly wardrobe, slide your feet into these surefire glam+street combo, and take note of the sock-lines, which read like an astrology chart.

Twinkle, twinkle, ladies.

Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage Neon Pack

When girls in high school would show up wearing highlighter colored t-shirts, I rolled my eyes and dismissed it as a trend. And although I will never love the neon t’s, I do love these tennis-ball-colored kicks, complete with the velcro straps I have grown to love. The grey and pink joints are also a great choice for vintage inspired foot candy.

And don’t even sweat getting these kicks dirty: the soles are already pre-yellowed to make sure that the vintage vibe is authentic.

Word.
