Look of the Day – Trouser + Sparkle

Some of us may associate a baggy trouser with grandmothers and other matronly figures, but there is an updated and upgraded version of the trouser: it is baggy, tapered at the ankle, may or may not have pleats, and paired with a sparkly extra.

DSQUARED2 Skeletal Heels

This year on the runway, bones other than model’s ribs and knees made a debut. DSQUARED2 introduced us to an anthropologist’s dream: shoes that uncover a supporting bone as its heel.

I dig it. It’s about time we moved on from the skeleton heads everyone is gaga over. Now there are new parts of the anatomy to drool over.

Blumarine – Fall 2010 RTW – Milan Fashion Week

Another city for fashion week. Another sassy-cool collection by Blumarine.

There was leather, fringe and definitive doses of safari, however, the collection truly shined when the zebra prints disappeared and the mini dresses with flowing trains made their entrance.

Polaroid Scarves – Phillippe Roucou on Reborn

Reborn brings us stunning printed Objet Trouves scarves by Philippe Roucou.

How stunning are these? Opened up, the polaroids come to life, and bunched up, they transform into a dope accessory. I love when art can transform into a fashionable garment.

BLANCO – Pre-Spring 2010

With S/S 2010 shows already the talk of yesterday thanks to the Fall 2010 RTW run, many have forgotten about spring of next year. However, Blanco’s Pre-Spring lookbook has arrived, and though the collection lacks a central theme — it is at times boho-chic/western, at times safari-driven, other times nautical, etc — all of the pieces are perfect for mixing and matching, which is definitely an attractive factor.

And Marloes Horst, the favorite-face of the moment, pulls off each ensemble effortlessly.

<–LOVE this

Major Lust: Sass & Bide Fall 2010 RTW

Pocahontas 2010? Tribal elements were paired with injections of leather, embellishments, lace and crochet. And let us not forget the lucite heels that were anything but stripper-esque.

I adore these pieces and truly believe this was among the strongest collections at fashion week. Sass & Bide gave us fluidity balanced by structured textures; the perfect amount of movement mixed with the right dose of tribal rebel.

Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte – Detailed Look

Nicholas Kirkwood proves he can create art-gallery-worthy masterpieces for your feet with Fall 2010′s collection/collaboration with Rodarte. The mixture of textures, fabrics and colors form an equation that equals perfection.

The seemingly melting heels are a nice alternative to hardware-heavy heels of last season. These are definitely a must (or lust, for me, since we all know I cannot afford them!)

Nothing Like a Man in Pink + Polka Dots

How does this guy (model Zascha) make such uber-feminine prints look so masculine? Is it the scruffiness?

Jordan Graham shoots Zascha for GQ Australia March 2010.

Marloes Horst in Black Magazine #11 by Paul Empson

Such a sensual editorial. The slicked-back hair, the lustful eyes.

Are you sweating?
