Vans Authentic “Neon” Collection

With all of the “blah” color palettes seen gracing the sidewalks as the weather gets colder, it is refreshing to see lovely pops of color in the right place: your footsies. Coming in three colorways, pick your favorites, or scoop all three.

Items to Covet…

These are all of the items that are number one on my to-love list, and last on my can-afford list. If only some day those two lists could meet somewhere in the middle…

Prada Heels

quilted patent-leather bag (Chanel?)

Piacotti gold-hardwear heels

peek-through sequined bra

baggy animal-print trousers (GREAT with sky-high heels)

Dolce & Gabbana ridiculously tall suede platform booties. PROMISED to make your legs longer than you’ve ever imagined.

lace bodysuit (I’m pretty sure American Apparel has a less pricey alternative)

Nike- Women's Vandal High – Electrolime – White

I have sent a million and one thank-you-letters to Nike, so I will refrain from saying THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. This colorway is dope, and the the Vandal is undoubtedly one of my favorites. Apparently, this shoes is only one part of a pack that is using Ancient Egypt as its inspiration. The crackled leather is a nice touch. These kicks are now available at all Nike Urban accounts, so scoop a pair and walk like an Egyptian.

Model Crush- Jourdan Dunn

Forget the days of the past when only one model of color was “allowed” to rule the runway. There were whispers of Naomi and Tyra clawing it out backstage because of the tiny slot in which models of color are placed. However, it is almost a decade into the millennium and times have changed. We now have the beautiful and sweet-faced Chanel Iman. We have Brazilian women such as Adriana Lima taking over huge fashion shows such as Victoria’s Secret’s annual sell-out. And the lines between “women of color” and simply “women” have been blurred as we all become more and more “mixed.”

So enough of that. Here we have a beautiful and fresh face: Jourdan Dunn. She was born in London and Storm Management has been lucky enough to represent her. SHe is fairly new to the scene, with her major debut being in the 2007 Marc Jacobs runway show. But soon, Alexander McQueen and Hermés follow in suit, and finally Prada, who had not had a black model walk their runway in ten years, asks Jourdan to walk their show. She is now in high demand and looks to be going nowhere soon.

And I love it.
