80%20 – Spring/Summer 2010 Preview

80%20 is a brand famous for their invisible wedge, which elevates us shorties to a gorgeous height without the wedge being obvious. The sear-sucker and liberty prints make this collection perfectly summery and feminine without alluding towards as a childish aesthetic.

I cannot wait (for spring) for this collection to hit the web.

Kate Moss for Topshop – Christmas 2009

Hello lovers! I am back with a NEW Macbook. However, sadly, I lost 3,000 songs during the data transfer. :( boo hoo

Enough about me. Miss Moss returns once again to represent Topshop. Here, she is seen in some of the season’s most covetable pieces. She is one of the women who seems to only grow more beautiful with age.

Shoes to Covet this Autumn/Winter 2009

I featured shoes to covet for spring 2010, but let us live in the now, shall we? As the degrees drop low, I desire shoes whose heel tower high. I’ve included a little of everything here: studs, leather, fringe, sequins, booties, fur, etc. I also have linked to places to purchase. Steve Madden has some nice alternatives for those of us who cannot shell out a stack of bills to decorate our feet.

Which ones are your favorites?

Leather sandal with fringe and stud detail, Giuseppe Zanotti, $695, intermixonline.com

Zip-front platform sandal, Charlotte Olympia, $825, net-a-porter.com

Ankle boot with mirror-laminated platform, Marni, $885, marni.com

Ankle-strap platform, Steve Madden, $129.95, stevemadden.com

Sequined pump with flower embellishment, Tory Burch, $495, toryburch.com

Studded ankle boot, Steve Madden, $160, visit stevemadden.com

Lace-up suede ankle boots with laser-cut front, Pelle Moda, $195, visit shopbop.com

Pink Lips + Jade Shadow

Sometimes too much color is…well….too much. However, if confident, you can sport this look with ease. Jade shadow and pink lips are a delicious combination, if worn correctly. As seen in this photo, DO NOT match your shirt/shoes/bag to your makeup. Keep your ensemble simple and chic.

Rihanna's Rated R Album Cover

Since Good Girl Gone Bad, Rihanna has gone through quite a transformation. Nevermind her romantic problems, her style and outward attitude has done a complete 180. She is undoubtedly more “edgy,” and her stylist should get a raise. Her popularity has risen, so I am sure her upcoming album will be widely popular with or without dope music.

Check it out. What do we think? DOPE or NOPE?

Nike Women's Blazer Mid – Black, Berry & Blue

Thank you, Nike, for yet another DOPE color concoction for the Nike Blazer. I love the colorway, which is a perfect blend of color without being too loud. Sometimes, as we all know, sneaker colorways can get kind of obnoxious and in-your-face. These, however, have a pop of color in all the right places. I am in love.

Cop yours today from 95Soleman on eBay.

Raquel Zimmermann by Mario Sorrenti + KAWS for Vogue Paris Nov 2009

SO SO SO SO very dope! High fashion + graffiti always makes for an amazing editorial, campaign or just collection of images in general. The legendary KAWS graffiti artist teams up with high fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti to capture model Raquel Zimmermann in some elaborate and georgous ensembles. The contrast of the high fashion and sometimes flashy high fashion ensembles are perfectly contrasted by the street art and “low culture” graphic and graffiti element. A perfect concoction for a dope editorial.

Missoni Opens the Missoni Hotel in Edinburgh, UK

The brand famous for their zig-zag knitwear opens a luxurious hotel in the UK. It is six stories and absolutely reminiscent of the brand’s luxurious approach to clothing. Also, the bedsheets, towels, and tablecloths all sport Missoni’s famous zig-zags. And starting at 335$ a night, if only my bank account would allow me to venture a night tossing and turning in the glamorous Missoni patterned sheets.  For now, I’ll gander at the photographs.

The Italian fashion house is already preparing to open hotels in other cities nationwide, including Kuwait City (Kuwait), Cape Town (South Africa), Jebel Sifah (Oman) and Ilha de Cajaiba (Brazil).
